Heat-shrink tubing made of fluoropolymers

Heat-shrink tubing made of PTFE

Heat-shrink tubing made of PTFE, FEP and Kynar – for the highest demands

Our special heat-shrink tubing made of PTFE, FEP and Kynar (PVDF) offers excellent protection in the most demanding environments. It is extremely temperature-resistant, chemically resistant and electrically insulating – ideal for applications in aviation, medical technology, high-voltage engineering and industrial electronics.

PTFE heat-shrink tubing – maximum temperature and chemical resistance

  • PTFE 200 AWG: shrink ratio 2:1, for use up to +260 °C, non-flammable, ideal for sensitive electronics, available in many AWG sizes
  • PTFE 400: shrink ratio 4:1, ideal for large differences in diameter, excellent chemical and temperature resistance
  • PTFE/FEP: dual-wall heat-shrink tubing made of PTFE with an FEP inner layer

FEP heat-shrink tubing – highly transparent and chemically stable

  • FEP 200 UL: shrink ratio approx. 1.3:1, high-temperature resistant (+200 °C), flame-retardant, highly transparent – with UL 224 approval

PVDF (Kynar) heat-shrink tubing – UV-resistant and halogen-free

  • BPVDF 175: shrink ratio 2:1, temperature range up to +175 °C, halogen-free, very good mechanical strength, UL 224
  • BPVDF 190: shrink ratio 2:1, for use up to +190 °C, high UV and chemical resistance, reliable outdoors as well

Frequently asked questions about PTFE, FEP & Kynar heat-shrink tubing (FAQ)

What is the difference between PTFE, FEP and Kynar?

PTFE offers the highest temperature and chemical resistance, FEP is highly transparent and easy to form, and Kynar (PVDF) stands out for its UV resistance and mechanical strength.

Which applications are suitable for PTFE heat-shrink tubing?

PTFE is ideal for high-temperature areas up to 260 °C, chemically aggressive environments and applications in electronics, medical technology and aviation.

Are transparent versions available?

Yes, PTFE, FEP and Kynar heat-shrink tubing is available in transparent versions and is ideal for visual inspection in sensitive areas.

Can Kynar heat-shrink tubing also be used outdoors?

Yes, Kynar heat-shrink tubing such as BPVDF 175 and 190 is UV- and weather-resistant and therefore also suitable for permanent outdoor applications.

Can the tubing be cut to length individually?

Yes. On request, we supply PTFE, FEP and PVDF heat-shrink tubing cut to length and processed.
