Accessibility Statement
BIT Bierther GmbH endeavours to ensure that its website is accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG).
Scope
This statement applies to the website at www.bit-gmbh.de, including the product catalogue and the enquiry function (enquiry basket).
Compliance status
This website is largely compliant with standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 at Conformity Level AA. ‘Largely compliant’ means that certain elements may not yet fully meet the requirements.
Measures implemented
- Full keyboard control, including the enquiry basket and filters
- A clearly visible focus indicator on all interactive elements
- ‘Skip to content’ link at the top of the page
- Meaningful alternative text for product and content images
- Semantic heading structure with exactly one H1 per page
- Labelled form fields with mandatory fields clearly marked
- Error and status messages are actively communicated to screen readers
- The image change in the page header can be paused; animations respect the ‘Reduce motion’ system setting
- Contrast ratios in accordance with WCAG AA (at least 4.5:1 for text)
- Responsive layout, usable up to 400 % zoom
- Correct language markup (German and English) and descriptive page titles
Non-accessible content
- Technical data sheets (PDF): Some PDF documents provided by manufacturers are not formatted to be accessible. We also provide the key technical data on each product page in the form of an HTML table. On request, we can send you the contents of the data sheets in an accessible format.
- Embedded map display: The map on the contact page is provided by OpenStreetMap and has limited functionality. The full address is shown as text directly next to it.

This statement was drawn up on 30 July 2026. It is based on an internal audit of the website in accordance with the criteria set out in EN 301 549 / WCAG 2.1 AA.
